Dennis Donahue III is an experienced, highly effective intellectual property attorney, manager, and business advisor. He joined Carmody MacDonald in 2024.
His clients range from small inventors to multi-million dollar technology, manufacturing, and retail companies. Dennis’ technical expertise extends across technology in all fields, especially in the mechanical, electro-mechanical, bio-mechanical, computer hardware and software arts. Dennis also provides professional opinions and actions for clients faced with issues of IP infringement and litigation matters. He counsels clients on business strategies which include license agreements for patents, technology, trademarks, copyrights, celebrity endorsements, and retail branding.
Dennis started his career as an engineer for McDonnell Douglas with key roles in Research and Development, the AV-8B Harrier program, followed by Litigation Support on the T-45 Goshawk program, all while attending law school. Dennis went on to serve as the aerospace giant’s Intellectual Property Representative and then became Boeing’s Manager of Licensing Portfolio & Marketing. In 2009, after two decades as both an aerospace engineer and then a leader in a large Midwest-based law firm, Dennis successfully launched his own boutique firm to realize his dream to work side by side with entrepreneurs and those on the cutting edge of technology and business.
Dennis has also served as an Adjunct Professor at St. Louis University School of Law, teaching “Anatomy of a Patent.” He offers seminars on intellectual property law to business leaders from companies of all sizes, as well as local business networking groups.
