Leo H. MacDonald, Jr. concentrates his practice in taxation, estate planning and business law, typically serving closely held businesses, not-for-profits and wealthy individuals.
In his taxation practice, Leo researches tax issues, reviews tax returns, works with government auditors and litigates tax appeals.
In his estate planning practice, he prepares estate planning documents and prenuptial agreements, represents trustees and personal representatives, prepares and reviews estate and gift tax returns, and litigates estate and trust matters.
In his business law practice, Leo creates formation agreements, documents for acquiring businesses through stock or asset purchases and plans for succession. He also represents corporate directors.
Prior to entering private practice, Leo worked as a staff and senior accountant in the tax department of an international “Big 8” accounting firm preparing tax returns for individuals, expatriates, corporations, trusts and nonprofit organizations.
Leo was recognized as the recipient of the prestigious 2006 Tom Cochran Community Service Award. This honor is awarded annually by the Young Lawyers’ Section of the Missouri Bar to a lawyer whose service and professionalism have significantly enhanced his or her community.
