Former Judge and Deputy Attorney General Bill Corrigan Joins Carmody MacDonald

May 28, 2026 — Carmody MacDonald P.C. recently announced that former St. Louis County Circuit Judge and Missouri Deputy Attorney General Bill Corrigan has joined the firm as a principal. Corrigan, a seasoned trial attorney with decades of distinguished service in both the public and private sectors, will bolster the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution practices.

Corrigan’s extensive legal career includes serving as a circuit judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit in St. Louis County following his appointment by Governor Mike Parson. He later served as the Deputy Attorney General for the State of Missouri, where he oversaw major litigation and statewide legal operations. Prior to his public service, Corrigan spent decades in private practice handling complex commercial litigation and civil defense and most recently served as the managing partner of the St. Louis office of a prominent national litigation firm.

“Carmody MacDonald offers an exceptional platform to practice law, combining top-tier legal talent with a deep-rooted investment in the St. Louis community,” Corrigan said. “The firm’s formidable, trial-ready capability allows us to better serve clients facing their most complex legal challenges, while maintaining the personal connection and regional commitment that truly sets Carmody MacDonald apart.”

The addition of Corrigan reflects Carmody MacDonald’s ongoing commitment to expanding its trial capabilities while maintaining its strong, community-focused roots in the St. Louis area.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bill to the firm,” said Brian Behrens, Principal and Co-Managing Partner at Carmody MacDonald. “His background as a judge, his leadership in the Missouri Attorney General’s office, and his deep experience in private practice bring a valuable perspective to our team. Bill shares the dedication to legal excellence and regional commitment that our firm is built on, and he will be a tremendous asset to our clients.”

David Stoeberl, Principal and Co-Managing Partner at Carmody MacDonald, emphasized how Corrigan’s arrival aligns with the firm’s strategic goals and operational expansion.

“Bringing an attorney of Bill’s caliber on board is a testament to the growth and forward momentum we are experiencing at Carmody MacDonald,” Stoeberl said. “As we continue to expand our sophisticated litigation practices, his unique experience on both sides of the bench will be invaluable. Bill’s dedication perfectly aligns with our mission to provide premier service to our clients and invest in the St. Louis community.”

Corrigan holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law and an undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame. He has been a presence in the Missouri legal landscape for more than 30 years, serving as one of the youngest presidents in the history of The Missouri Bar and regularly earning recognition for his professional achievements and leadership within the bar.
